The Mind-Improv
Improv is beneficial!
Here is a series of tips to keep in mind.
The Mind
I want to tell you about the mind. I’ve discovered that improv is beneficial to the mind.
It interacts with the,
Four C’s
• creativity
• critical thinking
• collaboration
• communication
You must be able to think on your feet. Surprisingly, improv is taught in schools.
On a popular Saturday night show is a great example. There is a lady that impersonates famous people. Most of the show is not a skit. She makes up most of the skit as it moves along. Enabling her to be able to think and act quickly.
I tried this with my grand-kids. It was fun to do, and I look forward to doing it with them again. For example, I started a sentence, and the next person had to add to it, then the next person until everyone has a turn — something fun to do with your family or friends. There is no right or wrong answer. Just be sure to set guidelines. Like no profanity and keep it motivating.
The Body
Your body tip for the day is about pain. So many of us experience pain, maybe a joint pain and knee pain. It is so important to be in tune with your body. A lot of us think that ignoring the pain in our bodies will go away. Pain is the last symptom of dysfunction. So, when you get that pain, it is an ailment that has been going on for a while.
The Soul
Lastly, I want to talk to you about the soul.
In Mark 11: 22-24 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
The key in this scripture is, don’t doubt in your heart.
I was looking at a video the other day about a lady that lost her son. She had been praying that God would save her son; she believed that God could do it; she knew that he would do it. When she finally realized that it might not have been God’s will to save her son, she accepted God’s will to be done. She found peace. As a result, her son did not receive healing. However, it was for him to have a perfect body in the afterlife. She was relieved because she believed beyond a shadow of a doubt that God could do all things.
If you have a plan, trust in God. You must believe in God and no doubt when you have whatever your goal is.
Believe that you are going to achieve it, and you will be successful.
