Limited Thinking
Limited thinking is what prevents people from achieving their goals.
I have a daughter that never takes no for an answer. She has a strong mind and achieves what she set her mind to achieve.
We as humans have auto reflexes that automatically tells us no before our mind tells us yes. And we must set certain triggers to discipline our minds to not go into that negative thought pattern. We must do it.
Be careful who you’re saying things to. Some people will talk you out of things for many reasons that are not healthy for you. Set out to take, can’t, and try out of your vocabulary and thoughts.
Goals
Set high goals. I talked with someone last week, and they told me they wanted to set reachable goals. All your goals are reachable.
Do you think Obama had doubts about his campaign for President? Maybe so, but he prevailed. He eventually became the President of the United States.
Our minds are much smaller than God. We can’t conceive or comprehend how God’s thoughts are.
Start thinking about your goals like a kid would. Kids don’t have any limiting beliefs. When I have the opportunity, I like to ask children about what they want to be when they grow up. Their answers almost filled with what some adults call astronomical dreams.
Knockdown those barriers!
Aim High
Some people may have limited thinking because of their fears of things that happened in the past. Under those circumstances, you may replay the past and remember how, when you failed at something, so you will not attempt it again. You can surely defeat that by not replaying failures.
You can do what you say you would do. Whether you say you can or not, you’re going to be right.
Like Les Brown says, if you set your goals high to the stars, you may reach the mountaintop, and if you set your goals to the mountaintop you might reach the valley.
So set your goals high, have unlimited beliefs. Don’t think about how you can’t. Think about how you can. There are so many possibilities.
Focus
We’ve all had those times when we wanted to do something. Like, getting that job at a certain place, but felt that you didn’t have the education for it, travel, but didn’t have the income. We always think about reasons not to push on. So, we should not give up. We should focus on getting around those obstacles.
Treat it as another opportunity to:
• Excel
• Overcome
• Give a testimony
Because it’s going to be a test that you pass.
I know you can make it!
Discern
You will have to cut people off. Jesus had to cut off his family. It’s hard to disassociate from friends and family. But you must associate with those that are 20 steps ahead of where you’re trying to go. I’m not saying let go of all your family and friends but use your discernment to identify negative personalities.
What are some of the obstacles you had faced when you were aspiring for a goal?
