Mind, Body, and Soul Series-Exercise
Exercise!
Mind Tip
If you feel yourself getting down, do some exercises. It revs up your dopamine and it is great motivation.
Exercise is something that will help your mind focus better.
Try doing some:
• Jumping jacks
• Push-ups
• Sit-ups
Whatever you can do to rev up your adrenaline and it’ll get back to feeling better. If you don’t have a tribe, friends or family that you can call when you need motivation it’s hard to bounce back.
Don’t isolate or stay away from others. Call somebody that you know will motivate you to keep going. Choose somebody that does not have can’t in their vocabulary. But somebody that’s always positive.
Body Tip
Let me tell you about the most important meal of the day. You will be surprised that breakfast is not at the top of the list. The most important meal of the day is for those people that exercise and the meal that you eat within 30 minutes of exercising.
It is going to help your muscles get back together and energize you. It needs to be a protein and a carbohydrate like a banana with peanut butter if you can eat peanut butter. Bananas have a lot of sugar so you may want to stick with an apple and peanut butter; one of my all-time favorites.
So just remember within 30 minutes of exercising get refueled energized rebuild those muscles and that’s your body for the day.
Soul Tip
Create a joyful ritual. Sometimes you can do a ritual that becomes habitual and it brings you Joy.
If you connect that ritual or that habit with being joyful, you will make others joyful. For instance, if you’re married or you have children in the house give them a hug first thing in the morning.
Here are some things you can do:
• Going outside and taking some deep breaths. (If you are in the western states, you can do that on most of the year)
• Play your favorite song first thing in the morning
• Do your prayer and meditation
When my sisters and I are together we always play Happy songs in the morning. We sing, rejoice and start our joyful ritual. So that we are on a joyful tempo for the rest of the day. If you start your day out that way, it’s going be a great day!
So, remember those joyful rituals.
In God’s Word, Psalms 47:1 says, “Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.”
Just getting up and clapping your hands in the morning, shouting to God joyfully will put you in a great mood.
Put on that smiling face and before you know it that ritual, or habit of being joyful will ignite flames into your day.
Goal Tip
Being physically responsible. Always have that pen and paper handy. You need to know all your income. Create a budget, therefore you will know when you get off track. However, recording your expenses every day will keep you responsible.
